The first version of Sicily Histories APP, the first Sicilian gamification application for the enjoyment of cultural heritage, developed by Hi.Stories, a start-up based in Catania, is now available on the App Store and Google Store. Sicily Histories brings together over 90 tourist guides scattered throughout the region, written by cultural tourism professionals, combined with game & stories content to explore Sicily in a fun and interactive way. 
The application was co-funded by the National Operational Programme Culture and Development ERDF 2014/2020 and uses gamification and storytelling techniques.
Sicilian cultural heritage has been divided into four major historical periods: classical antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Baroque era and the modern age, in order to construct genuine narratives that link points of interest that are distant but united by a common theme.
Sicily Histories APP is the first product from Hi.Stories srl, an Etna-based start-up offering digital services for the promotion of cultural heritage.
